Tax and accounting for tradies.
Whether you're an employee on the tools or running your own trade business, Supertax helps you claim what you're entitled to and keep your records ATO-ready.
What tradies can usually claim
- Protective clothing and safety gear such as steel-cap boots, hi-vis and hard hats
- Tools and equipment (items costing $300 or less claimed immediately; more expensive items depreciated)
- Vehicle costs for travel between job sites or carrying bulky tools
- Licence renewals, training and industry memberships
- Work-related phone and internet use
For trade business owners
- ABN, business name and GST registration
- BAS preparation and lodgement
- Bookkeeping in Xero, QuickBooks or MYOB
- Payroll and super for apprentices and employees
- Choosing between sole trader, company and trust structures
Every return is reviewed personally by a registered tax agent before lodgement. Consultations are available in English, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.

Can I claim my work boots and hi-vis?
Protective clothing and footwear, such as steel-cap boots and hi-vis, is generally deductible. Everyday clothing such as jeans or plain shirts is not.
Can I claim the drive to work?
Travel from home to your regular workplace is usually private. Travel between job sites, or carrying bulky tools you need and can't store on site, can be claimable.
