Tax refund estimator
Choose a financial year and estimate your refund or tax bill, using the ATO's resident tax rates, the low income tax offset and the Medicare levy for that year.
How this estimate works
It applies the resident tax rates for the financial year you choose, takes off the low income tax offset (up to $700) and adds the 2% Medicare levy, including the reduction for low-income singles. The exact rates used are shown under your result. Only years whose rates we have loaded can be chosen.
It doesn't include HELP or other study loan repayments, the Medicare levy surcharge, private health insurance rebate adjustments, family Medicare thresholds or other tax offsets. It assumes you were an Australian resident for the whole year. If any of these apply, your result will differ, and we can work it out exactly when we prepare your return.
These results are estimates for general information only. They don't take your personal circumstances into account and aren't tax or financial advice. Speak with a registered tax agent before acting.
