SMSF cost checker
Compare what your super costs now with the cost of running a self-managed super fund, and see the balance at which an SMSF starts to cost less.
Cost is only part of the decision
An SMSF gives you control over investments, including direct property and shares, but every member becomes a trustee who is legally responsible for the fund. Before deciding, consider:
- the time needed to manage investments, keep records and review the investment strategy
- whether you would lose insurance cover held in your current fund
- the sole purpose test and the rules on dealings with members and relatives
- what happens to the fund if a trustee becomes ill, separates or dies
The SMSF figures here are examples, not our prices. The ATO supervisory levy is currently $259 a year. We'll give you a fixed quote before any work starts.
